Before noon Today on November 23,2011 by the present of (Dr.Barham Salih) president of Kurdistan region government, Dr. Rezan Hasan Head of environmental protection and improvement board and a number of responsibles from governmental and nongovernmental. In Makhmur district the operate of planting 5 million trees all around Kurdistan region has begun under the motto of ( a green Kurdistan and a health environment) Dr. Barham Salih has planted the first tree in the beginning of this process . in a statement government president pointed out that it is the task of government and all the people to protect environment the process of developing our country will not be go on with out keeping our environment also it is essential to care for greenery and government has to have it is role to protect environment today we are declaring 5 million trees and last year 2300000 trees the rate of verdancy was %80 Dr. Barham wishes to get the further  rate of verdancy this year and he announced that from now on we have to work for the next year make it to 10 000000 trees and make a contest between the districts in order to change the drought place to greenery also he added that the ministers of education , religious and municipally should have the role to awareness people to protect environment.
